Friday, Graduation and Commissioning Ceremony
The commissioning and graduation ceremony is the culmination of the four-year education and training of the Class of 2023. Each graduate receives a Bachelor of Science degree and takes the oath of office as they are each commissioned as an ensign in the U.S. Navy or as a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Arriving at the times listed will provide you ample time to speak to midshipmen at the stadium prior to the ceremony up until they muster for procession at 8:50 a.m.
Parking: There is limited parking available on the Naval Academy grounds. We will have some reserved parking spots available for media that will be prioritized by media type. Please anticipate heavy traffic in Annapolis, particularly Wednesday, May 24 and Friday, May 26. Arriving at the time listed will give you ample time to park, check-in with Public Affairs staff for your media credentials, and get to the event site. Vehicles (limited to one per organization) are to enter through Gate 1 off of King George St. or Gate 8 off of MD Rt. 450 for events on base, and press alternatively can park in Annapolis and enter through Gate 3 on foot (Gate 3 remains closed to vehicular traffic) open 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. You will not be granted access to base until the check-in times listed, so if you arrive at a gate too early, you may be asked to return at the time listed.
