<p>The man served as pastor at Miracle Temple Church, a Lothian, Maryland church from 2017 until October 2022. In 2020, the church parsonage sustained damage from a fire, leading to an insurance claim. The insurance company paid the church $350,000 in March 2021. Later that month, the former pastor deposited $347,000 of that settlement into his personal account and used the funds for personal expenses.</p>

<p>In a separate case prosecuted by the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office, the man pleaded guilty to theft on March 11, 2025, for the misappropriation of the church’s money.</p>

Brown acknowledged the work of his Criminal Division team and the cooperation of the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office in securing the conviction. The man awaits sentencing in both cases.</p>
