Majority of Annapolis' City Council voted to approve and swear in the city's new director of Parks Dept.

Ward 3's Rhonda Pindell Charles cast the lone no vote and explained that it was not a vote against the new director but rather a vote in protest of the process Mayor Buckley used to pick her. Roslyn Johnson, who has served in a similar role in Baltimore County.  She succeeds Archie Trader, who will be stepping aside after six years in the top job and 16 years with the department. In a January news release, Mayor Gavin Buckley said the switch would “move the department in a new direction."
