In September 2021, Christian Parada was found dead in the bedroom of her Admiral Oaks Apartment in Annapolis. Security camera footage shows the then 16-year-old teen boy from the District of Columbia entering the building. But, during numerous police interviews, Daniel Fletcher said he didn't kill the young man who was found to have died from a shot in his head.
Police say both teens were connected to an investigation involving a stolen weapon.
The defense praised the jury for upholding the rule of law that the Prosecution didn't present its case against Fletcher beyond a reasonable doubt. State's Attorney Anne Colt Leitess told reporters, "Justice was not served with this verdict which went against the weight of the evidence.”
