Anne Arundel County will receive $17.5 million for road improvements after President Biden signs the National Defense Authorization Act on Friday. The money will be used to update and improve the roads around Fort George C Meade. The Fort was established in 1917. The roads have been needing improvements as more and more families of service members moved in and around the fort. More than 63 thousand people from more than 120 different agencies are housed on the Fort. County lawmakers have also been pushing to change residential zoning laws to accommodate new families that will be connected to the National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command
