(Glen Burnie, MD) WNAV — Nearly three dozen firefighters responded to battle a home blaze where fire was showing from the entire first floor on Sunday.
Two firefighters were treated and released after suffering minor burns. First calls for the emergency came around 11:15 a.m.
The fire was in the 200-block of Sunset Drive in Glen Burnie, in the Twin Cove community.
Five occupants escaped injury as the emergency crews arrived and one resident is displaced. The Red Cross is providing housing assistance. There was one smoke detector in the home but whether it was operating or not is still to be determined.
It is estimated to have caused $90,000 in damages. The cause is under investigation.
According to initial reports, the fire started in the living room of the two-story home and it took one hour to bring the blaze under control.
