(Severna Park, MD) WNAV — The Anne Arundel County Health Department is sending an alert to Severna Park residents who may have pets that spend time out of doors. A rabid raccoon was found on Wednesday, January 19 near the intersection of Windrose Lane and Larkspur Lane.
If your pet has unexplained injuries, you may want to contact your veterinarian. Rabies is easily spread by just a scratch from an infected animal. And it’s a reminder to make sure your pet has the protection of the rabies vaccine.
Receiving treatment quickly if you become infected is a priority. If left to run it’s course, rabies can be a fatal disease.
