Pasadena residents called police last night after witnesses reportedly saw two postal service drivers fighting. Media reports indicated that letters were all over the street, as two USPS delivery trucks engaged in what Channel 11 news in Baltimore described as bumper car-like antics between a female and male USPS worker. Neighbors say that one of the regular carriers was off this week. The US Postal Inspection Service says all mail was recovered and delivered to its destinations.
Anne Arundel County Police say they arrested a 21-year-old Baltimore man who is a U.S. Postal Service employee, was charged with first- and second-degree assault as well as reckless endangerment for the incident. The Capital Gazette reports that when Anne Arundel County Police arrived at the scene, Hampton continued to deliver mail until officers placed him in handcuffs, charging papers say. He was arrested and charged, later being released on $1,000 bail. He is being represented by a public defender. It’s believed that the woman and man drivers were involved in a relationship.
