(Annapolis, MD) WNAV — The Maryland Judiciary announces the return of jury trials in criminal and civil cases in circuit courts statewide. Officials say the COVID-19 metrics have reached the point of safely returning to in person court proceedings on Monday, March 7.
Administrative judges of the circuit court and the District Court together may, based on local health officials, require health measures in courthouses and judicial facilities. If needed, those health order exceptions will reflect March 7 as the effective date.
Face coverings are voluntary and entrance screenings will no longer be necessary.
Officials recommend those who have business with the courts to check the Judiciary’s website at mdcourts.gov to determine courthouse rules for their geographic area.
