(Annapolis, MD) — WNAV– Via social media, fire departments and the Anne Arundel County Police have released the following information regarding helicopters flying over a couple of our communities today to help with the maintenance of an existing and the building of a new public safety radio tower:

Public safety departments, such as fire and police are advising of low-flying helicopters today as the Solley Public Safety Radio Tower has parts flown.  They advise that Solley Road is closed between Energy Parkway and Fort Smallwood Rd until 5 p.m.  Detours will be in place in and around that area of Curtis Bay today. This work was scheduled for yesterday but was put on hold because of the rain.

Today another safety tower is scheduled to have work done on it in Gambrills, on Davidsonville Road. A 300-foot tall public safety radio tower will be constructed…and helicopters will be landing and flying over Bell Branch Park, which will be closed to the public all day.

On Thursday, expect work on a new public safety radio tower near 503 College Parkway in Arnold.  There will be temporary closures of Bay Dale Road between Jones Station Road and College Parkway as the helicopter transports materials over the roadway
