New Safety Ambassadors soon will be spotted in downtown Annapolis, thanks to a public safety grant that was awarded to the Downtown Annapolis Partnership from the state. These ambassadors will not be armed but, the Partnership says they will provide directions and an extra set of eyes in areas frequented by visitors and tourists. The Safety Ambassadors will also be encouraged to call the police or other help should the need arise. These Safety Ambassadors are to help dampen any fears that tourists and residents might feel while visiting the downtown area. There have been posts, particularly on social media showing fights, and assaults.
