This post is from eyeonannapolis.com <p>The <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/aacopd” target=”_blank” >Anne Arundel County Police</a> Department is continuing its investigation into an animal cruelty case involving the suspected shooting of a dog in Harwood.</p>

<p>According to police, a resident reported on April 23, 2025, that her Belgian Malinois, named Maisie, had gone missing three days earlier on April 20. The complainant told authorities <a href=”https://www.wmar2news.com/local/family-heartbroken-after-dog-shot-and-killed-allegedly-mistaken-for-coyote”>she believed her dog had been shot</a>.</p>

<p>The case was taken over by the Southern District Detective Unit, which identified a suspect during the course of the investigation. A 70-year-old man from Harwood was charged on May 8, 2025, with animal cruelty-related offenses through a criminal summons. The remains of the dog have not been located.</p>
